On September 22 on the south of Russia in Rostov-on-Don an event took place that Greeks of Diaspora and all orthodox Christians of the city have waited for many years. On this day the first foundation stone was laid and the place for construction of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Greek Orthodox Church was consecrated.

On August 15, 2007 on the day of the Blessed Virgin Assumption a delegation of Greeks of Russia went on pilgrimage to the historic land of the greater part of Greeks —Pontus. They visited the capital of historic Pontus St. Panagia Sumela cathedral, situated 20 km from Trebizond, Turkey.
